Care Training available:

  • Moving & Handling

    This half day course covers the requirements of current legislation, which includes the requirement that employers should provide information, instruction and training on Health & Safety and Moving & Handling in the workplace. Yearly refresher recommended. Employers’ duties as outlined in the H&S at Work Act. Identify potential hazards and the action to reduce risk. Demonstrate spinal awareness and ergonomics. Safe use of equipment in the workplace. Moving and Handling Risk Assessment.

  • Emergency First Aid

    This half day course examines the role of the first aider; managing an emergency; communication and casualty care; bleeding (minor and severe); burns; choking (adult); fainting; health and safety (first aid) regulations; resuscitation (adult CPR); seizures (adult); shock and the unconscious casualty.

  • Medication Update

    To provide the learners with the theoretical knowledge to enable them to understand and apply the legal and local requirements for the safe administration of medication. Know the requirements for ordering medication. Identify the conditions and legal requirements for the storage of medication. Safely administer medication, including controlled drugs, using different types and routes. Provide an audit if medication administration in compliance with legal regulatory requirements. Safe disposal of medication.

  • Infection Control

    This half day course examines the reasons for infection control, consequences of infection on staff and service users, infectious diseases, the effects of parasites, good infection control practice and waste disposal.

  • Health & Safety

    This course covers the requirements of current legislation, which includes the requirement that employers should provide information, instruction and training on Health & Safety in the workplace. Employer’s duties as outlined in the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. Identify potential hazards and the action to reduce risk. Safe use of equipment in the work place. Welfare, RIDDOR (Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations) and COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations.

  • Fire Safety

    This course covers the requirements of current legislation, which includes the requirement that employers should provide information, instruction and training on fire precautions in the workplace. Yearly refresher recommended. Identify potential fire risks and take action to minimise them, evacuation, causes of fire and the chemical processes involved, fire prevention measures and portable fire extinguishers.

  • Dementia Awareness

    This session is aimed at all workers in the care sector who care for people living with types of dementia. To enable them to understand the condition and to provide an enhanced standard of care.

    This course covers understanding the terms dementia and confusion, how to deliver person centred care and the importance of communication, nutrition and the need for personalised activities.

  • Equality and Diversity

    This Equality & Diversity course equips staff with knowledge of anti-discriminatory practices and promotes inclusion in the workplace.

  • Independent Quality Observations

    Our team of trained assessors with occupational competence across a range of care sectors can offer independent observations to meet the requirement of the Care Certificate.

    We can also provide unannounced observations to Care Providers who want to ensure their Medication administration meets the required standards. This can be particularly useful in Supported Living Environments and Home Care.
