Courses include Assessor and Internal Verifier qualifications (previously known as A1 & V1), Level 3 Certificate in Working in End of Life Care, Level 3 Certificate in Working in Activity Provision, Mental Health Awareness, Dementia Awareness, Safe Handling of Medicines, and Principles of End of Life Care.

Short Courses available:

  • NCFE Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement

    This qualification is made up of a set of learning outcomes and assessment criteria that describe what you need to be able to do, and things you need to know to achieve your qualification.

    The qualification consists of 3 mandatory units.

    Mandatory units

    Unit 01 – Understanding the principles and practices of assessment

    Unit 02 – Assess occupational competence in the work environment

    To achieve the NCFE Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement you must achieve the 3 mandatory units.  You must provide evidence to show that you meet all the learning outcomes and assessment criteria defined in the unit

  • NCFE Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice

    This qualification is made up of a set of learning outcomes and assessment criteria that describe what you need to be able to do, and things you need to know to achieve your qualification.

    The qualification consists of 3 mandatory units.

    Mandatory unit

    Unit 01 – Understanding the principles and practices of internally assuring the quality of assessment

    Unit 02 – Internally assure the quality of assessment

    Unit 03 – Plan, allocate and monitor work in own area of responsibility

    To achieve the NCFE Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice you must achieve the 3 mandatory units.  You must provide evidence to show that you meet all the learning outcomes and assessment criteria defined in the unit.

  • Level 3 Certificate in Activity Provision in Social Care (QCF)

    These qualifications are for those working, or intending to work, in the health and social care sector to develop their understanding of the potential benefits of engaging in both everyday and programmed activities. The qualifications will support learners in contributing to planning and delivering individual and group activities and increase their understanding of how activity has an important role in person-centred care.

  • Level 3 Certificate in Working in End of Life Care

    This qualification provides opportunity to develop knowledge, understanding and skill to work in end of life care. It provides understanding of current theory, practice, policy and procedure regarding end of life care. It also asks the learner to demonstrate the skills necessary to work in end of life care services. It is aimed at workers in health and social care who are supporting individuals at end of life.

  • Level 2 Certificate in Understanding End of Life Care

    This qualification aims to develop the learner’s knowledge and understanding of:

    • How to work in end of life care
    • The support needed to manage pain and discomfort
    • How dementia impacts on end of life care
    • The role of the care worker in time of death
    • The loss and grief process.
  • Level 2 Certificate in the Principles of Dementia Care

    This qualification aims to assist learners to develop their knowledge and understanding of the principles of caring for those with dementia.

  • Level 2 Certificate in Understanding the Safe Handling of Medicines

    The qualification aims to help learners develop:

    • A general understanding of different types of medication and their use
    • Knowledge of the procedures for obtaining, storing, administration and disposal of medicines
    • An understanding of legislation and the audit process related to medication and issues of responsibility and accountability
  • Level 2 Certificate in Awareness of Mental Health Problems

    This qualification aims to raise awareness of mental health and a range of mental health problems.
